How the internship runs

Application review & shortlisting

Every application is reviewed against our minimum criteria. Given the volume of applicants, only shortlisted candidates move forward.

Screening call

Shortlisted candidates get a short, informal call with the OCN team to confirm fit and track placement.

Onboarding & kickoff

Selected interns get access to learning material, tools, and their mentor in week one.

6-week virtual internship

Weekly tasks, mentor check-ins, and a final project you build and present.

Certificate & wrap-up

Present your final project, receive your certificate, and discuss next steps in your career.

Eligibility

Who can apply

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program, or a recent graduate
  • Based anywhere in Nepal — this is a fully remote program
  • Able to commit roughly 8–10 hours a week for 6 weeks
  • Has a laptop and a stable internet connection
Selection criteria

Minimum knowledge we look for

  • Basic familiarity with how computers, networks, and the internet work
  • Comfortable navigating a command line at a beginner level (we'll build on this — you don't need to be fluent)
  • Genuine interest in cybersecurity, shown through self-learning, coursework, or personal projects
  • Able to read and write in English at a working level, for reports and mentor communication
Note on selection: Because we expect a high volume of applications, every submission is reviewed against the criteria above and shortlisted before the screening call. Seats per cohort are limited to keep mentorship meaningful — we're unable to individually respond to every applicant, so only shortlisted candidates will be contacted directly.
